Workshop
How public space can be activated by artistic intervention How public space can be activated by artistic intervention
Ken Lum Künstler, Pennsylvania/USA
The workshop will consist of a project of the imagination. Participants will be asked to conceive of a public monument that deals with what Michel Foucault calls a forgotten memory. Participants are to think of an appropriate form of insertion into public space as to an appropriate work of art of memorialization at a site within Vienna. Participants must show a command of the site they choose to investigate. There must be lucidity in terms of the display board presentation such that a deep understanding of the chosen site is transmitted to the receiver (the viewer).
